DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels on walls and cellings
- Apply joint compound and tape to seams, corners, and fastener holes
- Sand, finish, and texture surfaces to prepare for painting
- Install metal or wood framing systems
- Repair damaged drywall (patches, cracks, water-damaged sections)
- Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
- Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
- Ensure compliance with BC Building Codes, fire ratings, and saftey regulations
- Operate and maintain tools (screw guns, stilts, lifts, hand tools)
- Coordinate with other tradespeople on site
- Maintain a clean and safe work site
REQUIRMENTS
Education:
- Completion of secondary school preferred
- Drywall installation apprenticeship program (3-4 years) is an asset
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2-3 years as a drywall installer or related trade
- Residential and commercial experience is an asset
SKILLS
- Knowledge of drywall methods, materials, and finishing techniques
- Ability to read blurprints and construction documents
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and work at heights
- Strong attention to detail; high-quality finishes
- Able to work independently and in a team
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- $37.00 per hour
- 30 to 35 hours per week
- Overtime per BC Employment Standards Act
