The following is a list of the major responsibilities of a Project Manager/Estimator:
- Review RFQ / Bid requests or On-site review and track within internal systems.
- Prepare Take-off and send material requirements for quotes and delivery lead times.
- Review pricing and update within the system.
- Prepare a proposal and send it to the client within the deadline, and follow up with the client on the opportunity.
- Upon winning the project, order materials with lead times in mind.
- Review and request the resources, tools, and equipment required.
- Schedule / Attend kick-off meetings (internal and external).
- Daily review and approval of AP invoices and Field time submissions.
- Review and approve client invoicing. Follow up with the client to ensure it is acceptable and processed for payment.
- Manage budget for scope/cost creepage.
- Generate and submit change requests as required.
- Review and sign off on Safety documents related to the project.
- Provide guidance/support to field staff.
- Participate in Project review / Forecasting meetings to discuss project health.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs and events.
- Attend any internal meetings, such as those on operations, safety, and sales.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in client satisfaction.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Qualifications:
- An Electrical Journeyperson ticket is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Accubid experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
- Certification in estimating (optional but preferred).
