Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Retail Manager to join our team. This role is vital in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail management experience, and a passion for creating a positive shopping environment. The Assistant Retail Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to oversee daily activities, manage staff, and implement merchandising strategies to meet business goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
- Oversee merchandising activities, including pricing strategies and product placement to maximize sales
- Operate POS systems efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges while maintaining excellent cashiering standards
- Handle purchasing decisions and inventory management to ensure stock levels meet customer demand
- Lead and motivate retail staff through training & development initiatives, fostering a high-performance team environment
- Implement marketing strategies to promote store promotions and increase customer engagement
- Maintain excellent customer service standards by resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Assist with budgeting, sales management, and store management tasks as delegated by the Store Manager
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, cash handling procedures, and store policies
- Perform administrative duties such as bookkeeping, organizational tasks, and phone etiquette
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or sales management roles with supervising experience preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising tools, and basic math for pricing and bookkeeping tasks
- Sound knowledge of negotiation, purchasing, marketing, and pricing strategies
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, training & development, and team management techniques
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills necessary for inventory control, administrative duties, and store operations oversight
- Customer service excellence with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities
- Administrative experience including payroll processing, budgeting support, and record keeping is highly desirable
