Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Sales Representative to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, answering phones and pursuing outside sales.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to effectively promote our plant material to the appropriate clientelle. Sales experience, comfortable with technology and experience in retail sales are highly valued. As a Sales Representative, you will play a key role in enhancing customer experience and increasing revenue by providing tailored landscape/ tree quotes and building lasting relationships.
Compensation is hourly + commission. Year round position with extended time off Dec/Jan.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable plant material.
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring satisfaction
- Utilize strong communication skills and phone etiquette to connect with customers both in person and over the phone
- Organize and manage time efficiently to handle multiple customer interactions throughout shifts, including office organizing.
- Demonstrate organizational skills by keeping track of sales, inventory, and customer information
- Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and improve overall store performance
- Qualifications
- Strong English speaking and writing.
- Previous experience in retail sales, landscape or horticulture
- Knowledge and/or strong interest in trees, shrubs and perennials.
- Knowledge of POS systems, basic math skills, cash handling, and cashiering experience required
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Proven ability to upsell products while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Strong organizational skills with good time management capabilities
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
