Position Summary:
A warehouse associate supports daily warehouse operations through hands-on and operative tasks like receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming shipments accurately, updating inventory records in warehouse management or ERP systems.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, including labeling and staging for outbound logistics.
- Assist in stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and maintaining organized storage to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Load/unload trucks and operate equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks safely.
- Track inbound/outbound shipments and prepare basic shipping documents such as receiving reports and packing slips.
- Support warehouse admin or managers with daily tasks, scheduling adjustments, and team workflow.
- Follow health, safety, and quality standards, including proper PPE use and reporting hazards.
- Maintain organized filing for warehouse documents and ensure all records meet company and regulatory requirements (e.g., CFIA for perishables).
- Assist in basic reporting by logging daily activities and noting inventory discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics environment
- Minimum 1 year of Forklift experience (Preferably with Stand-up Counterbalance).
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems and RFD scanners is an asset.
- Strong physical stamina for repetitive lifting (40–50 lbs).
- Teamwork, communication, safety awareness, strong work ethic.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication in English, both oral or written.
- Ability to work in freezer temperatures at -20C.
Working Conditions:
- Operative role that requires 40–50+ lbs lifts repeatedly; stand for 5+ hours; a freezer environment (-20C), operate pallet jacks, forklifts, RF scanners; basic math/computer use (Excel, ERP/WMS)
- Standard work hours with flexibility during busy shipping/receiving periods.
- May require to work extra hours on weekends
