Currently we are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to help in our warehouse and yard. The primary role of the Warehouse Assistant includes but is not limited to, the receiving and processing of incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. An ideal candidate will be a well-rounded, versatile individual that can be flexible in the tasks assigned.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with receiving, unloading, counting, and stocking physical inventory in the warehouse and yard.
- Sort, organize and store inventory in the proper locations.
- Stack and organize large bulk items.
- Loading and wrapping stock on pallets.
- Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move inventory.
- Update logs and documentation for inventory processing.
- Perform clerical functions, and other duties as required.
- Driving to various locations within the city to source stock and supplies.
- Work as an active team member to complete team goals.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Minor building and yard maintenance.
- Various task as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physically able to lift 40lbs or more for an extended period of time.
- Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk, and climb during the course of the shift.
- A Valid G class drivers license or higher with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable working inside and outside in all weather conditions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in English.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory software, and able to upload data into the company system.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory.
- Highly organized and able to store items efficiently.
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
- Must follow all health and safety procedure and regulations as dictated by the organization and the Province of Ontario.
