Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices in compliance with food safety regulations
- Cook various menu items, including rice, tempura, and other accompaniments, maintaining high quality and consistency
- Serve customers efficiently at the counter or table, providing friendly and attentive food service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and dining areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs
- Follow all food industry safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure customer safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in sushi or Japanese cuisine preferred
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safety standards within the food industry
- Excellent serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and positive interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards
- Kitchen experience including use of knives, sushi rolling tools, fryers, grills, and other culinary equipment
- Demonstrated commitment to food safety practices and cleanliness standards
