We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Real Estate Law Clerk to support our team with residential, agricultural and commercial real estate transactions at our Elmira location.
While experience is an asset, we are willing to train a university graduate who has an interest in law, enjoys working in a fast-paced office environment and is up for a challenge!
Key Responsibilities
- Open, manage, and close residential, agricultural and commercial real estate files
- Review Agreements of Purchase and Sale
- Draft closing documents, including Transfer/Deed, Charge/Mortgage, and Statement of Adjustments
- Conduct title and execution searches and review reports
- Prepare requisitions and respond to requisitions
- Communicate with clients, lenders, realtors, municipalities, and law offices
- Request and review mortgage instructions and payout statements
- Coordinate closings and fund transfers
- Prepare trust deposits, requisitions, and disbursements
- Assist with file billing and closing reports
- Maintain accurate records and ensure deadlines are met
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience with software (e.g., Teraview, Unity Practice Management and Unity Accounting, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
