Key Responsibilities
As the Project Coordinator, you will support the successful delivery of construction projects by ensuring effective coordination, accurate documentation, and clear communication across all stakeholders.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Assist in developing, updating, and communicating project schedules, including short-term lookahead plans to keep teams aligned and on track.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager, helping to identify risks and maintain timelines.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Track production quantities, costs, and productivity metrics, ensuring accurate reporting and alignment with project budgets.
- Support the review of invoices and financial documentation to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
Documentation & Communication
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, change orders, and daily reports.
- Act as a key point of contact for field correspondence between project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
Field Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with superintendents and foremen to coordinate manpower, materials, and deliveries, ensuring smooth site operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, engineers, subcontractors, and external partners.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring policies and procedures are implemented and followed on-site.
- Monitor compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and address any issues promptly.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and quality of work to ensure project standards are met.
- Analyze field data and productivity reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced efficiency.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (CET designation is an asset).
- Experience in construction project coordination or management, ideally within civil or heavy construction environments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost reports.
- Proficiency in project coordination tools and Microsoft Office, with experience in construction management software considered an asset.
Key Competencies:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including field crews, engineers, and project stakeholders.
