Makami Engineering Group Limited is an engineering consulting firm based in Sudbury and we provide the bulk of our services to industrial clients in Northern Ontario. We are currently looking to expand our engineering capabilities by adding to our growing structural, mechanical and electrical departments. We currently have a Lead Electrical Engineer in place and would like to add a full-time Electrical Engineering EIT to supplement our team. We currently have an opening in our Sudbury office for a full-time:
ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING EIT
What this position entails:
- Perform engineering calculations
- Produce electrical engineering designs
- Draft engineering drawings
- Apply standards and regulations to designs to ensure compliance
- Incorporate safety and risk analysis into electrical designs
- Perform in-field inspections and assessments
- Write technical reports
- Perform FEA analysis
- Write detailed project proposals and estimates
- Work with instruction from more senior engineers, complete tasks with guidance
- Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and attend field reviews
- Participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines and with assistance from the Lead Electrical Engineer
What we’re looking for in a candidate:
- Entry-level experience in electrical engineering and design, 4 months-2 years
- Completed bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a Canadian university with an accredited engineering program
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Knowledge of Autodesk programs
- Strong interest in electrical engineering in the industrial or mining sectors
- Willing to learn in the following industries: mining, industrial, commercial, rail, steel, concrete structures, foundations, and more
- Must be able to attend industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations
- Co-op/summer employment experience in mills, smelters, mines, industrial sites, infrastructure, refinery, material handling, pulp and paper, a benefit
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have a team player attitude and be able to work in a project team environment
- Must be able to work on multiple projects at any given time and manage workload according to resources available, deadlines, etc.
