We are seeking a reliable and motivated Lumber Yard Associate/Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves assisting with warehouse operations, handling lumber and building materials, and delivering products to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience with warehouse operations, and the ability to operate commercial vehicles safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in a hands-on role within the construction supply industry.
Duties
- Load and unload lumber and building materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Safely operate delivery trucks to transport products to various job sites and customer locations
- Assist customers in selecting and loading materials, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and inventory records
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during loading, unloading, and driving activities
- Perform general warehouse tasks including organizing stock, moving materials within the yard, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and product details
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after deliveries to ensure safety compliance
- Deliver and carry drywall into job sites
Experience
- Prior warehouse experience preferred, especially in lumber or construction materials
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus
- Valid G class driver’s license to operate delivery trucks
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, often handling large or bulky items
- Skills in moving materials efficiently within a warehouse setting
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to warehouse operations and commercial driving is desirable
Requirements:
- Able to work alternating weekends
- Able to carry sheet goods and lift 80+lbs
- Able to operate a forklift - or confidant enough to learn
- Valid G class license
