KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat-resistant alloys and high-nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings, which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual), GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in-house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in-house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.
Summary:
Responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in all aspects of the finance function to ensure that month-end requirements are met for Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.
Accounts Receivable Management
-
Generate and issue accurate customer invoices based on shipments, purchase orders, and contractual agreements.

Verify pricing, quantities, freight charges, taxes, and payment terms before invoice submission.

Process credit memos, debit memos, and customer adjustments as required.

Maintain customer account records and ensure data accuracy.
Collections and Customer Account Management

Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.

Contact customers regarding outstanding balances through phone, email, and written correspondence.

Negotiate payment arrangements when appropriate and escalate collection issues as needed.

Maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring adherence to company credit policies.
Cash Application
-
Process and apply customer payments received via EFT, wire transfer, cheque, ACH, or other payment methods.

Reconcile customer payments against open invoices.

Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash.
Reconciliation and Reporting
-
Reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledger.

Prepare weekly and monthly AR aging reports.

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

Support audit requests by providing documentation and account analyses.
Credit and Risk Management
-
Assist in evaluating customer creditworthiness and setting credit limits.

Monitor customer credit exposure and report potential risks.

Support the implementation and enforcement of credit and collection policies.
Manufacturing-Specific Responsibilities

Coordinate with Shipping and Logistics teams to ensure invoices align with completed shipments.

Resolve billing issues related to production orders, returns, shortages, damaged goods, and customer claims.

Review customer purchase orders and ensure compliance with contractual billing requirements.

Support customer rebate, pricing agreement, and chargeback processes.
Process Improvement
-
Identify opportunities to improve invoicing, collections, and cash application processes.

Participate in ERP system enhancements and process automation initiatives.

Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field from an accredited university

Current CPA designation

Minimum of 3 years experience working in a Finance environment, preferably in a manufacturing setting

Knowledgeable in all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Superior interpersonal and communication skills
