Facility Manager of Hockey Rink for MLS Arena
Job Summary
The Facility Manager of Hockey Rink for MLS Arena is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the ice rink and related facilities. The Facility Manager ensures the safety, quality, and customer satisfaction of the rink users and staff. The Facility Manager also manages the budget, inventory, and staff scheduling of the rink.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the rink supervisor, opetstors and dome attendents.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and safety of the ice surface, rink boards, glass, hockey nets, and other equipment.
- Perform or oversee the installation and removal of the ice surface, as well as the regular resurfacing, edging, and cleaning of the ice.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures of the rink and the MLS arena.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage the rink’s inventory of hockey equipment, supplies, and merchandise, and order new items as needed.
- Prepare and manage the rink’s budget, financial reports, and records, and ensure the profitability of the rink.
- Schedule and coordinate the rink’s programs, events, and rentals, and liaise with the rink’s user groups, such as minor hockey, ringette, and other concerned groups.
- Promote the rink’s services and products to the public and potential customers, and maintain a positive relationship with the community and the media.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the ice rink industry, and implement best practices and innovations to improve the rink’s operations and performance.
- Prior experience in operation of Ice resurfacing equipment is must.
- CIT designation is preferred but not mandatory.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, recreation management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in managing and operating an ice rink facility.
- Knowledge of ice making, ice maintenance, and ice rink equipment and systems.
- Knowledge of hockey products and equipment, and a passion for hockey and the hockey community.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and rink management software.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions and schedules, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,904.98-$95,000.00 per year
