Your role:
- Work with the team in US and personal corporate US tax practice.
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections and project budgets.
- Review assessments and correspond with the IRS, state authorities and CRA on various issues.
- Provide tax advice and solutions to clients and manage client accounts.
- Advise on relevant US/Canada cross border issues.
- Assist with implementing tax initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients.
- Actively mentor and coach staff to their highest potential
- Review corporate and personal US income tax returns. T1134, T1135 and T106 forms.
- Preparation of US corporate and personal tax returns with associated federal and state filings
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
- US and/or Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
- Minimum of 4-5 years in a manager level position in public practice
- 6+ years of experience with US Tax
- A background in tax compliance and accounting for income tax and a broad understanding of U.S. income taxation
- Leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach and develop team members
