About SOSBIS:
Since 1991, the South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society (SOSBIS) has supported individuals with acquired brain injuries in Penticton, BC, helping survivors and their families build independence and overcome challenges through comprehensive services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional front-line reception and administrative support to clients, staff, and the public
- Answer and direct phone calls, manage general inquiries, and monitor shared email accounts
- Maintain client files (paper and electronic), databases, and organizational records
- Assist with reports, newsletters, membership renewals, and donor correspondence
- Support scheduling, waitlists, meeting coordination, and administrative needs across programs
- Liaise with IT contractors and oversee office equipment and supply inventory
- Track maintenance requests and coordinate follow-ups for facilities and housing units
- Process accounts payable, including invoices, payments (EFT/cheques), and vendor records
- Assist with rent subsidies, HIFIS database updates, and reconciliations
- Manage petty cash, deposits, and support financial reporting and audits
- Provide general administrative support to the Executive Director, Finance Manager, and program teams
Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduation
- Previous administrative experience or training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Canva
- Experience with databases and accounting software (Sage preferred)
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
