Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Panel Shop Manager to lead our electrical panel manufacturing team. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the panel shop, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and experience managing shop personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the electrical panel shop.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production to meet project deadlines.
- Supervise, mentor, and support electricians, panel builders, apprentices, and shop staff.
- Assign work and monitor productivity to ensure efficient workflow.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, company standards, and customer specifications.
- Review drawings, bills of materials, and project documentation before production.
- Coordinate material requirements with purchasing and project management.
- Maintain quality control throughout the manufacturing process.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and company safety policies.
- Monitor shop equipment and coordinate maintenance as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop efficiency, processes, and productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Electrician certification or Electrical Engineering Technologist/Engineer designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial electrical panel manufacturing.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a panel shop or electrical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial control panels, power distribution systems, and electrical drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with production planning and scheduling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office;
