Opportunity: Heavy Equipment Operator (Dozer/Grader/Excavator)
Schedule: 14/7 working up to 12 hours per day.
Job Location: Fort McMurray- Suncor
Accommodations: Camp Available
Transportation:
Local Hires - Bussing to site available
Non-Local Hires - Reliable transportation is required. Employees are responsible for their own transportation to and from camp.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess:
- Minimum 1 years of experience operating a dozer, grader, or excavator
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- 3-Year Driver’s Abstract meeting insurance requirements
- CSO Certification
- Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Test
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Positive attitude and willingness to follow direction
- Basic computer skills required to complete online training and orientations
- Ability to obtain site-specific certifications as required
- Industrial site experience considered an asset
- Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check if required
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies
- Complete required documentation and equipment records
- Work closely with supervisors and crew members to meet project goals
- Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
Dozer Operator- Minimum 1 Year
- Safely operate dozers in civil construction, earthworks, and industrial environments
- Perform rough and finish grading according to project specifications
- GPS / non-GPS
- Build and maintain roads, pads, berms, and drainage systems
Grader Operator - Minimum 1 Year
- Safely operate motor graders for rough and finish grading activities
- Construct and maintain roads, lease sites, pads, and drainage systems
- Achieve precise grades using survey information, grade stakes, and GPS technology
Excavator Operator- Minimum 1 Year
- Safely operate excavators for excavation, trenching, loading, ditching, and backfilling operations
- Excavate and move material according to project specifications
- Load trucks and support site preparation activities
- GPS / non-GPS
- Work safely around underground utilities and existing infrastructure
