Job Overview
We are seeking experienced and reliable Professional Drivers (Class 1) to join our team in Metro Vancouver. This role involves operating sprinter type vans and heavy-duty vehicles to transport freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle various types of freight. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles, including vans, trucks and trailers, across Metro Vancouver and surrounding areas
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle functionality
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules and delivery statuses
Experience
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Familiarity with forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair is advantageous
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to heavy vehicle operation in Metro Vancouver
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions
