Job Overview
Custom Energized Air is seeking a motivated, safety-focused Service Technician / Compressor Technician to join our growing Edmonton team. We welcome applications from individuals who are currently registered in a Millwright apprenticeship program through to certified Journeyperson Millwrights, as well as those with relevant mechanical service experience.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in compressors, rotating equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and industrial maintenance. Whether you are building your trade experience or bringing years of expertise, you'll have opportunities to develop your skills through a combination of field and shop-based work.
In this position, you will support in-house and on-site service activities, assist with compressor maintenance and repairs, equipment assembly and testing, troubleshooting, inspections, and system commissioning. You will work closely with a collaborative team that is committed to safety, quality workmanship, and delivering reliable solutions to our customers.
What You’ll Do
Compressor & Mechanical Service
- Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial air compressors and related equipment
- Assist with compressor installations, commissioning, and system modifications
- Diagnose mechanical, pressure, airflow, and performance issues
- Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure reliable compressor operation
Mechanical Assembly & System Work
- Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic components using 1/4” to 3/4” NPT threaded pipe and tube fittings
- Apply proper thread engagement, sealants, torque requirements, and leak‑prevention practices
- Use hand and power tools including wrenches, torque wrenches, pipe threaders, cutters, and gauges
- Align, position, and secure components to ensure safe and reliable operation
Hydraulic, Pneumatic & Instrumentation Work
- Safely connect and disconnect hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies
- Identify hose types, fitting styles, pressure ratings, and system requirements
- Work with basic industrial instrumentation, including pressure gauges, transmitters, regulators, switches, and control devices
- Assist with installation, verification, and troubleshooting of instrumentation used in air, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Testing & Quality
- Assist with Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) and product acceptance testing
- Perform system checks including pressure testing, leak checks, flow validation, and operational sequencing
- Accurately record test results, identify abnormalities, and support troubleshooting efforts
Safety, Teamwork & Support
- Work safely with energized hydraulic, pneumatic, and air‑pressure systems
- Follow all lockout, depressurization, and isolation procedures
- Support warehouse, inventory, delivery, and project tasks as required
- Provide professional, customer‑focused technical support
- Collaborate effectively with teammates across departments
What We’re Looking For
Education & Technical Experience
- Registered Millwright Apprentice (any year) or Journeyperson Millwright certification
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work safely in industrial and customer-site environments
- 3–5 years of relevant hands‑on experience as a Service Technician, 2nd yr Instrumentation Technician, Hydraulic System Manufacturing or relevant work experience
- Experience working with compressors, rotating equipment, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, r other industrial mechanical equipment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation, including gauges, regulators, switches, and transmitters, used for system monitoring and control
Candidates with additional experience in compressor diagnostics, system commissioning, or testing are encouraged to apply

Compensation will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
