Patient Care Experience Advisor

Under the authority of the Quality and Patient Safety Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for integrating best practices related to client satisfaction in the facilities where services are provided. This will be achieved through the implementation and support of patient and family-centred care and service delivery in all facilities and programs in the region. The incumbent will work closely with all levels of the organization to implement strategies to solicit comments from and listen to patients and their families in order to improve the quality of care and services and the patient care experience. He or she will also be responsible for implementing an integrated approach to managing and addressing complaints, with the objective of using complaints as a source of information to improve services. He or she will see to the implementation of effective, transparent, responsible, and reasonable improvement processes, while ensuring that the interests of stakeholders are well represented. He or she will also provide liaison with patients and their families/loved ones and all staff members to facilitate handling and effective resolution of complaints. He or she will also work collaboratively on continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and also on standard and best practice integration activities as part of the accreditation process, also supported by the Quality Department.

Undergraduate diploma in the health care field or any equivalent training and experience;
Specific training in quality management or patient safety considered as an asset;
Five (5) years of varied experience in the health field;
Graduate diploma considered as an asset;
Clinical experience in the hospital setting;
Management experience considered as an asset;
Good ability to analyze and solve complex problems;
Demonstrate leadership and be able to mobilize / engage others towards a common goal;
Skills in group/meeting facilitation and conflict management;
Strong organizational skills, good judgment and ability to prioritize work;
Competencies in research methodology and interpretation of data;
Skills in team facilitation, coordination of initiatives and development and presentation of educational materials;
Good communication skills both orally and in writing and a good command of both official languages;
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, Meditech (MedQM, PCI), etc.;
Ability to work in a team and independently;
Physical ability to do the assigned work;
Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
Adherence to professional ethical priniciples, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
Ability to exercise discretion and compliance with the rules of confidentiality set forth by Vitalité Health Network.
Spoken and written competence in English and French is required.

1. Salary commensurate with provincial scale for management staff.
