Job Overview
We are seeking a Grocery/Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for for providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a well-organized, clean, and fully stocked grocery department. Supporting Receiving you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of goods in and out of the store. You will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming and outgoing shipments of merchandise, as well as maintaining accurate records of inventory. You will operate a pallet jack, ensure cleanliness and safety of the receiving area while accurately ensuring the physical flow of product. Your attention to detail, organization skills, and commitment to quality will contribute to the overall success of the store's operations.
Duties
- Assist customers in locating products and provide information about product
- Receive, unload, and stock merchandise
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment
- Manage the physical and system information for all the incoming and outgoing merchandise of the store
- Monitor shipping dashboard to schedule efficient delivery windows to minimize delivery wait times
- Update Purchase Order (PO) expected delivery dates (and/or time) when appropriate
- Preparing outgoing shipments as scheduled.
- Sort shipments and organize items according to deliver to departments within the store
- Inspecting the stocks and process vendor returns for damaged products in a timely manner
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish products as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations
Skills
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving procedures
- Strong basic math skills for inventory management
- Experience with reach trucks and forklifts for handling stock
- Ability to perform order picking and packaging tasks efficiently
