Course Information

Introduction to research designs applicable to quantitative data, e.g., observation, survey, experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational. Basic concepts in measurement, reliability, validity, and test construction. Descriptive statistics; correlation; t-test; basic non-parametric statistics (e.g., chi-squared); analysis of variance; meta-analysis. Selection of appropriate statistical analysis for a given research design.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.

Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD or EdD, with doctoral-level training in research methods and demonstrated experience teaching at the graduate level. Candidates should have strong knowledge of research design, including observational, survey, experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational approaches, along with experience applying these designs in educational research. They should also have a solid foundation in quantitative methods, including measurement, reliability, validity, and introductory statistical analysis, and be able to support students in selecting appropriate methods for different research questions.
