This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

NOVA Chemicals, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
We are seeking a Leader, IT Product Delivery to leading the IT product and application portfolio, ensuring delivery of high-quality technology solutions and in alignment with business strategy.
In this role you will guide and oversee the development and management of IT products and solutions, aligning product strategies with business needs and goals across NOVA Chemicals. You will have overall responsibility for strategic interface with the business functions to drive business technology strategy development, solution delivery, product and service management, risk management and relationship management. The role proactively manages technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business functions. You will partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects and initiatives against cost, value and risk criteria. This role is accountable for the RUN and GROW application and IT product portfolio across the company.
You Will Use Your Expertise In the Following Areas:
Business Management/Partnering:
Establish and maintain relationships with the key business and technology stakeholders to support decision making on product/application capabilities and business priorities.
Develop, maintain and evolve the product/capability roadmaps for NOVA’s application portfolio, working collaboratively with stakeholders to prioritize new capabilities based on clear business cases, and gaining alignment from stakeholder steering groups and business leaders.
Act as the IT owner for all key enterprise applications and collaborate with relevant business system owners and technology teams to manage and evolve the support and sustainment model.
Facilitate and drive alignment among key stakeholders, using a data driven approach to converge on enterprise application and product/capability strategies, vision and roadmap.
Own operating, sustainment and investment budget and ensure cost competitive and value optimized deployment of resources.
Lead IT planning, governance, and optimize project delivery planning to balance resources across application portfolio in consultation with business sponsors and technology stakeholders.
Define, track and communicate key product portfolio performance indicators required to drive dynamic portfolio prioritization and business results.
Ensure business value capture by driving organization change management and product adoption across enterprise application portfolio and through the full applications lifecycle.
Drive the optimization of existing products/solutions, understand and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and build business case for next generation of products/solutions.
Understand and apply knowledge of end-to-end business processes to identify improvement opportunities and identify solutions supported by technology across the business value chain.
Establish and maintain relationships with the key external vendors in the technology ecosystem that matter for product success.
Ensure compliance with internal processes and standards to support compliance with relevant regulations and own the IT controls matrix as it relates to SOX.
Lead the design and execution of a strategy to evolve the IT operating model, including new structure, processes, and ways of working across the RUN and GROW portfolio.
Product Delivery Management:
Act as the "keeper (and communicator) of the vision" to translate the application, product and capability strategy into an execution plan requirement for product delivery teams.
Lead product delivery teams and ensure solutions are delivered to business priorities.
Lead and coordinate the product managers to manage interdependencies and ensure alignment across product lines and business functions.
Coordinate with stakeholders such as business, data and IT architects to align product and platform architectures and capabilities according to agreed goals for non-functional requirements.
Collaborate and coordinate with business CoEs to manage idea intake and initiative prioritization for business value.
Hold accountability to manage innovation and technology scanning including experimentation, prototyping and PoCs across portfolio.
Leads the design and implementation practices to scale agile delivery with proper coordination and communication, remaining focused always on value.
What We Are Looking For:
Minimum undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least 15 years of progressive information technology experience in a similar role, of which at least 5 years of the experience is in a leadership/people management capacity
Demonstrable experience of engaging executives and other stakeholders to support important business decisions.
Demonstrable knowledge of the product management discipline and experience working in or with lean/agile delivery teams.
Experience managing enterprise SAP environments (S4/HANA implementation experience is a plus).
Excellent project/program management skills leading large business transformation programs.
Strong understanding of system integration principles and practices.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects through prioritization and disciplined execution
Effective communication skills - written and verbal and assertive communication style with the ability to inspire and motivate others

Additional Information:
Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
This role requires up to 25% travel
The successful candidate must be eligible to travel easily between Canada and the United States
