We are Exakt, a busy machine shop in east Edmonton, near Sherwood Park. As a small team we work collaboratively to produce excellent results. Our mission is to provide a manufacturing facility with a wide range of capabilities through the superior quality of our products, services, and personnel.
We are seeking a journeyman or a machinist with several years of experience to join our team.
Must be detail-oriented and enjoy a variety of work in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a small team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Being part of a small team means that sometimes we fill many different roles. Job responsibilities can vary but may include:
- Setup lathes and mills for production runs
- Run machines during both small batch and production runs.
- General shop maintenance and organization
Value added skill:
- Programming experience with GibbsCam
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Must haves and non-negotiables:
- Journeyman or well experienced Apprentice
- Demonstrated ability to set up a CNC machine with provided instructions (programs are provided), with limited supervision.
- Capable of basic program edits
- Be able to run the first piece and continue with production runs with limited supervision.
- In process inspection. Measuring and making offsets as required to keep sizes within specifications.
- Haas and/or Fanuc experience required (G-code)
- Demonstrated programming experience
- GibbsCam experience
- Lathe experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Must be physically able to use proper lifting techniques to occasionally lift items up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work within very close tolerances.
- Ability to concentrate on detailed work
- Positive attitude and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.

Hours of work-Monday to Friday 8 AM- 4:30 PM (Overtime at owner's discretion)

Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
