The Cahill Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Construction NL team in St. John’s, NL. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting the successful execution of industrial construction projects from planning through completion. In this fast-paced and hands-on role, you will work closely with project managers, site supervision, tradespeople, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to help deliver projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. You will have the opportunity to spend time in the field, identifying and resolving challenges, improving project coordination, and contributing to a strong culture of safety and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail are key to project success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to all phases of project delivery while building valuable experience in project coordination, planning, cost control, procurement, scheduling, and construction management. This position will be a permanent position, working Monday to Friday, with opportunities for travel and rotational site assignments that may arise.
What will you do?

Support the successful delivery of construction projects by helping ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and contract requirements.

Coordinate the planning and execution of project activities by ensuring materials, equipment, and skilled trades personnel are available and aligned with project timelines.
- Serve as a vital link between the field and office, maintaining project documentation, submittals, records, and reporting systems that keep projects running smoothly.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scopes of work, assisting with material take-offs, equipment planning, and procurement activities.
- Champion a strong safety culture by helping identify potential hazards, supporting risk mitigation plans, and promoting health, safety, and environmental excellence across all project activities.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training initiatives to help ensure every team member returns home safely each day.
- Collaborate with project supervisors and managers to develop work plans, schedules, resource allocations, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Assist in coordinating daily construction activities and sequencing work to maximize efficiency while minimizing disruptions to ongoing operations.
- Track project progress, gather field data, and contribute to regular project reporting that supports informed decision-making.
- Support the engagement and coordination of subcontractors, helping ensure work is completed to project standards and client requirements.
- Play an active role in managing project changes, requests for information (RFIs), change orders, shop drawings, and other key project controls.
- Monitor project registers and proactively follow up on outstanding items to help prevent delays and maintain project momentum.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Respond promptly to project inquiries and help ensure critical information flows efficiently between all stakeholders.
- Contribute to successful project closeout activities, including turnover packages, final documentation, and handover deliverables.
What will you bring?

An Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience. Focus in electrical and mechanical areas are preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in construction, industrial, maintenance, or project coordination environments.
- Experience working in industrial, mining, energy, commercial, or heavy civil construction environments is an asset.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with management, tradespersons, clients and suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs and adaptable to other software applications as required
