Site Supervisor (Residential & Commercial Construction)

The Construction Site Supervisor must have extensive knowledge of the building industry. The selected candidate has demonstrated the ability to provide a high level of customer service while simultaneously planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the daily activities of all assigned construction projects. Blends hands-on repair skills with on-site leadership to manage daily maintenance, construction projects, or tasks.
The Site Supervisor's responsibilities include:

Assisting with the preparation and execution of the overall work plan and schedule.

Organizing and maintaining project site files, drawings, logs, submittals, POs, and change documentation; managing the electronic document database/file-sharing site.

Maintaining up-to-date, accurate documents for the project, including drawings, plans, submittals, document logs, purchase orders.

Reviewing subcontractor and supplier progress applications and payment certificates.

Liaising with architects, consulting engineers, subcontractors and suppliers regarding contract and change notices, design revisions, RFIs, RFQs, etc.

Preparing and participating in meetings with the project team, architects, consultants and subcontractors.

Preparing and distributing accurate and detailed meeting minutes in a timely manner.

Assisting with final document turnover to the client at project completion.

Coordinating deficiency tracking and timely closeout.

Maintain project awareness and keep Project Manager(s) and others informed about status and potential issues.

Providing other technical office support as required by the project team.

Perform hands-on labour on site when required, including completing minor repairs and corrective work.

Other duties/tasks as assigned.
The Site Supervisor will have:

Minimum 3 years of industry experience in residential and/or commercial construction.

Level 3 Carpentry certification is an asset.

Degree or diploma in a construction-related discipline, as well as demonstrated, progressive experience in General Contracting, is an asset.

Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control, quality, and administration.

Experience running multiple, concurrent projects is an asset.

Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.

Ability to carry out minor repairs and corrective work on-site.

Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Willingness to travel to Northern communities and remain on-site for extended periods (typically 2–3 weeks) is required.
