Field Service Technician

Express Employment Professionals is currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service Technician on behalf of a leading waste recycling equipment supplier. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working independently, solving mechanical problems, and delivering exceptional customer service in the field.
In this role, you will travel to customer sites to inspect, troubleshoot, service, and repair industrial compactors, balers, and related waste recycling equipment. We're looking for a hands-on professional with strong hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and outstanding customer service.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- One week of on-call rotation every month
- Remaining weeks are fully scheduled
- Occasional weekends and overtime as required
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair industrial compactors, balers, and waste recycling equipment.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and PLC control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency service calls.
- Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately.
- Communicate professionally with customers while providing exceptional service and technical support.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.
Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or Industrial Maintenance Technician.
- Strong experience with hydraulic systems is required.
- Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment.
- Exposure to Stick (Arc) welding is an asset.
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check is required.
- Valid Working at Heights certification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in the field.
- Forklift certification is considered a strong asset.
