Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and possess a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen operations, ensuring that all food preparation and processing tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the fabrication and preparation of various food items, including meat packaging, prep, labeling etc
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils to adhere to food safety standards.
- Support kitchen manager in daily operations, ensuring timely preparation of product
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, demonstrating mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues.
- Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
- Participate in training sessions on food processing techniques and safety protocols.
- Packing labeling customer orders
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, particularly in roles involving meat cutting or butchery.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for sanitation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing kitchen demands
- Able to work independently as as part of a team.
- Must be available some weekdays & Saturdays
