Overview
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and people-oriented Construction Administrator to be the backbone of our construction coordination and office operations. This position is the central hub that keeps permitting, inspections, shipping documentation, onsite activities, and office culture running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full permitting process including Development Permits (DP), Building Permits (BP), electrical, plumbing, transportation (BC Transport), and all other required approvals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal inspectors, third-party warranty providers, and certification bodies.
- Prepare and manage all shipment-related documentation (BC registration, warranty packages, CSA/Intertek labels, energy compliance reports, etc.).
- Support the construction department by sourcing qualified subcontractors, answering New Home Warranty (NHW) questions, and providing information/clarification on legacy projects.
- Facilitate weekly production meetings and onsite coordination meetings; record detailed minutes, track action items, and follow up to ensure completion.
- Greet and direct customers, delivery drivers, contractors, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Foster a positive office atmosphere by organizing staff events (BBQs, holiday decorating, potlucks), managing RSVPs, and contributing to team morale initiatives.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience in construction administration, permitting coordination, or a related field (modular/offsite construction experience is a strong asset).
- Working knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and transportation regulations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects, deadlines, and action items simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable being the “face” of the company for inspectors, customers, and trades.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
