Aquazen Systems Inc. — Vaughan, ON
Part-Time | Approx. 20–24 Hours/Week | 3 Days/Week
Opportunity to Grow into Full-Time in Early 2027
Aquazen Systems is developing smart water-management technology for high-rise buildings, including IoT leak detection, drain backup monitoring, LoRaWAN connectivity, automatic water isolation and intelligent building analytics.
We are looking for a hands-on, curious and technically minded IoT & Product Development Technician to join our growing team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a student, recent graduate, or early-career technician who enjoys electronics, computers, IoT hardware and figuring out how things work.
What You'll Do
- Set up, configure and test IoT sensors, LoRaWAN gateways and automatic valves
- Monitor connected devices and help troubleshoot connectivity or hardware issues
- Assist with building installations and commissioning throughout the GTA
- Prepare, configure and test equipment before deployment
- Maintain our IoT test lab and equipment inventory
- Test new sensors, gateways and hardware from different manufacturers
- Assist with R&D and prototype development
- Perform LoRaWAN range, connectivity and battery testing
- Help test dashboards, web applications and device integrations
- Create wiring diagrams, installation guides and technical documentation
- Build standardized installation kits and improve deployment procedures
- Research new IoT technologies and products that could improve the Aquazen platform
- Assist with demonstrations and proof-of-concept systems
When Field Work Is Slow
This role is not about waiting for the next installation. Downtime becomes development time.
You'll be encouraged to experiment, build, test and improve the Aquazen platform through ongoing R&D projects. We believe in becoming 1% better every week, and you'll have the opportunity to identify and present improvements to our hardware, installations, testing processes and overall system.
What We're Looking For
- Strong interest in IoT, electronics, networking and technology
- Comfortable working with computers, hardware and web-based applications
- Someone who genuinely enjoys tinkering, troubleshooting and solving problems
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Organized and capable of documenting technical work
- Willingness to learn and work both in the office/lab and on customer sites
- Valid driver's licence preferred
Experience with LoRaWAN, Arduino/Raspberry Pi, sensors, electronics, networking, APIs, building automation or smart-building technology is an asset, but not required.
We're more interested in finding someone who is curious, dependable and eager to learn than someone who already knows everything.
Growth Opportunity
The position will initially be approximately 20–24 hours per week over three days, with the intention of developing the right person into a full-time role as Aquazen Systems grows, potentially beginning in early 2027.
If you're the type of person who takes something apart because you want to understand how it works — and then starts thinking about how to make it better — we'd like to hear from you.
