About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Millwright / Custom Machine Builder to join our team. This role is focused primarily on custom machinery fabrication, mechanical assembly, and system integration — not routine plant maintenance.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fabrication and build environment, understands mechanical systems in depth, and takes pride in building equipment from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble custom machinery from engineering drawings and layouts
- Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and assembly prints accurately
- Perform precision mechanical assembly and fitting of components
- Install and integrate hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Assemble and plumb hydraulic circuits including pumps, valves, cylinders, and manifolds
- Install and troubleshoot pneumatic controls and air systems
- Perform equipment alignment, leveling, and precision measurement
- Modify and fabricate components as required during builds
- Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is achieved
- Participate in machine testing, commissioning, and debugging
- Ensure builds meet quality, safety, and performance standards
Qualifications & Experience
- Licensed Millwright (433A )
- 10+ years experience in custom machine building or heavy mechanical assembly
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
- Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Experience with:
- Hydraulic power units
- Cylinders and proportional valves
- Pneumatic systems and controls
- Bearings, gearboxes, drives, and conveyors
- Proficient with precision measuring tools
- Welding and fabrication experience considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
