Program Associate, STHM

As the Program Associate with STHM you will provide the day-to-day support for planning, coordination, and implementation of the requirements of the academic programs. This includes detailed program administration and support to the financial, clerical and logistical needs of the instructional staff and learners. Appointed to focus on one or more specific programs, you will be part of a team that ensures all programs are supported.

Reporting to the School Manager, you will be intimately familiar with the policies and procedures of the University and Faculty and collaborate with core faculty, associate faculty and RRU support units to ensure the seamless preparation, delivery and closure of all program and learner activities. As a front-line program representative, you will conduct yourself professionally and ethically when dealing with learners, program affiliates, external stakeholders, staff and faculty. You will have strong computer skills, be able to prioritize, work in a team environment and possesses excellent organizational and people skills.

Result: The daily operational requirements of academic programs and learner needs are well supported within the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management and they operate efficiently and effectively. Job Requirements
Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible administrative experience, including two years of demonstrated experience in supporting multiple individuals and diverse activities
Demonstrated self-starter with superb organizational and time management skills, attends to detail, able to work with minimal supervision, and use sound judgment, diplomacy, tact when acting on behalf of Program Leads, faculty, the School Manager or Director
Outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to service excellence
Experienced with accounting practices, collating and presenting data and statistics
Resourceful and takes initiative to find solutions, create and recommend new efficiencies
Advanced computer skills, including the MS Office Suite, financial and event management software, intranets, customer resource management databases
Skilled in Internet searches and organizing and presenting information retrieved
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
Able to plan, coordinate and support complex projects effectively using effective time-management and creative problem solving skills
Able to assess a problem or task critically and ascertain the best way to deal with it
Strong team ethic, works well with others, provides advice and support, asks for help, seeks solutions and enjoys working in an evolving, multi-task environment.
Additional and Desirable Assets

Post-secondary educational administration experience
Familiarity with the tourism industry and/or hotel sector
Fluency or competency in a second language, particularly French or Chinese
Additional Information
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at Grade 2 and the salary range is $41,051 to $61,576 per annum.
