Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Complex Caregiver to provide specialized support for youth with disabilities within a family home setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering personalized care, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and assisting with daily activities to promote independence and well-being. Client has cerebral palsy, seizure condition and is currently fed via NG Tube.
Experience
- Experience with NG Tube, G Tube or Complex Feeding is an asset. Please clarify related experience in application
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is highly preferred
- MUST have experience using LIFTS or TRANSFER equipment
- MUST be willing to learn other equipment handling (Bike, Stair Climber, Walker)
- Demonstrated caregiving skills with patience, empathy, and strong communication abilities
- Proven track record as reliable, trustworthy and dependable for shifts
- MUST be authorized to work in Canada *not able to assist with sponsorships of any type
- MUST be open to Reference check and Background check before hire
Caregiver Duties
- Prioritize duties on NG feeds, delivering medications and supplements, performing suctions, nebulizers and related home care
- Monitor health conditions, administer medications as prescribed, and communicate any concerns to family
- Collaborate with family members, therapists, and other caregivers to ensure consistent care plans are followed
- Perform Range of Motion, Walker and exercise, Physio and other active rehabilitation
- Work conditions and physical capabilities include bending, crouching, kneeling and is physically demanding
- Weight handling between 40 and 45 kg (80-100 lbs)
- Full care of client’s household needs, fold clothes, clean equipment, supplies management, prepare daily school supplies
Home Support Duties
- As needed care for typical child, family and household duties
- Some meal preparation (snacks for typical child)
- Household duties like laundry, wash dishes, cleaning, vacuum, mop
- Other duties as needed

SHIFT: Monday to Friday: 2.30pm to 8.30pm (6 hours)
WAGE: $26.00 an hour
LOCATION: 3100 block Chrisdale Avenue, Burnaby. Close to Lake City Skytrain.
***Own vehicle preferred as some late hours***
