Located in Regina, Saskatchewan, the Head of IT Project Management will oversee, develop, and refine the project management practice within the corporate IT division. In this role, you will recruit, guide, and develop a team of project managers, establishing a center of excellence that ensures consistent, high-quality execution across our entire technology portfolio. This critical leadership position handles a diverse range of initiatives, from large-scale enterprise system rollouts to vital infrastructure enhancements.
Framework & Governance: Design, execute, and oversee a standardized project delivery methodology while championing best-in-class project management practices throughout the IT department and broader business units.
Executive Visibility: Create and maintain robust reporting systems to offer senior executives transparent insights into the health, potential bottlenecks, and financial status of the overall project portfolio.
Team Leadership: Direct, coach, and guide a team of project managers, cultivating an environment focused on ownership, teamwork, ongoing learning, and career growth.
Resource Management: Coordinate staffing assignments and collaborate with various business departments to secure the talent required for project success.
Portfolio Lifecycle Management: Supervise the end-to-end lifecycle of IT initiatives, guiding them from initial conceptualization and strategic alignment through to final deployment and post-project reviews.
Financial & Risk Analysis: Evaluate project viability through detailed cost-benefit reviews, risk profiling, and return-on-investment (ROI) forecasting.
Scope Definition: Direct the drafting of project charters that explicitly outline boundaries, targets, risks, key milestones, and final outputs.
Budgetary Control: Maintain strict financial oversight across all initiatives, monitoring actual expenditures against forecasts and securing supplementary budget approvals as required.
Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate strong, cooperative partnerships with corporate divisions and key stakeholders to verify that technology initiatives directly support business objectives.
Vendor Management: Supervise the performance, invoicing, and contract deliverables of external suppliers, specialized consultants, and third-party contractors.
Change Adoption: Introduce and lead a structured organizational change management strategy to guarantee seamless adoption of fresh systems and processes.
Communication: Facilitate routine briefing sessions with stakeholders to share updates, gather input, and align expectations.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in IT project delivery, backed by a history of successfully launching intricate, large-scale technology solutions.
Education: An undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is highly desirable.
Certifications: Holding an active Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is functional and highly preferred.
Technical Domains: Proven history of overseeing initiatives involving ERP systems, CRM platforms, bespoke software engineering, cybersecurity, and core IT infrastructure.
Industry Background: Previous experience working within the industrial, manufacturing, or logistics and supply chain sectors represents a major advantage.
Platform Knowledge: Technical familiarity with enterprise ecosystems like Microsoft M365, MS Azure, or MS Dynamics 365 is preferred.
