About Our Client
Our client is a well-established research and technology organization that supports world-class scientific and engineering initiatives. They are currently seeking a Logistics Specialist to join their Supply Chain and Logistics team on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics and warehouse professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, service-oriented environment and has strong inventory, shipping, receiving, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
- Support daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse activities.
- Receive, unload, sort, and verify incoming shipments while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Pick, issue, and replenish inventory items using the organization's ERP system.
- Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Process inventory transactions, returns, and stock movements.
- Prepare and coordinate domestic and international shipments, including required documentation.
- Handle and process dangerous goods shipments in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight carriers, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders regarding shipments and deliveries.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged shipments, overages, and shortages.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain inventory, shipping, and receiving records.
- Issue site access documentation and permits while ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and storage environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is an asset.
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, or inventory control.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory management and transaction processing.
- Strong data entry, computer, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
- Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse documentation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move materials safely and perform physical warehouse duties.
- Forklift experience is considered an asset.
- Supply Chain certification is considered an asset.
- Dangerous Goods certification is considered an asset and may be obtained after hire.
- Experience handling dangerous goods shipments is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
