Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive mental health services, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients across various settings. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and therapy options.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary, ensuring adherence to best practices in psychiatric care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines, including primary care providers, psychologists, and social workers.
- Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately within electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Participate in research initiatives aimed at advancing psychiatric practices and improving patient outcomes.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Manage acute care cases, including crisis intervention when necessary.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training in areas such as pain management, pediatrics, or home care as needed.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice psychiatry in the state of employment.
- Experience with electronic health records systems such as Epic and Cerner is highly preferred.
- Prior hospital experience or work within acute care settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to psychiatric practice.
- Experience in specialized areas such as pain management, pediatrics, or home care is a plus.
- Skills in research methodology and data collection to support clinical studies or quality improvement projects.
- Proficiency in medication administration, patient care procedures, and phlebotomy is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
