Job Description / Duties
Pollin Fertility is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Casual Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care during fertility-related surgical procedures, supporting patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical journey. This is a casual, as-needed role with variable hours based on clinic and surgical volume.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative nursing care for IVF-related procedures
- Perform injections and venipuncture
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism with all patient interactions
- Communicate with patients via phone and email as required
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation, including pre-operative assessments, intra-operative records, and post-operative notes
- Monitor and assist with inventory management of medical and surgical supplies
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, anesthesiologists, embryology, and nursing team members
Qualifications / Required Skills
- BScN
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current BCLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 3–5 years of medical/surgical nursing experience
- Previous IVF or fertility clinic experience preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to patient-centred care and professional practice
- Reliable attendance and strong work performance
Employment Status & Compensation
- Casual position with no guaranteed hours
- Shifts scheduled based on operational and surgical needs
- Compensation is commensurate with experience
- This position is not eligible for benefits
