We are looking for Full-Time Behaviour Support/Youth Workers for our new Special Needs therapeutic program in Maple Ridge. You will work as part of a team to provide support, care, and mentorship to a youth with special needs and autism in a therapeutic home setting. We are looking for candidates with a strong knowledge of Family Systems theory and an ability to work within a strength-based and trauma informed lens. A variety of shifts and lines are available, including daytime, evenings, and overnights. All lines are 40 hours per week and include one weekend day.
You must have:
Post-secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with children/youth with autism or developmental disabilities
Demonstrated experience working with children/youth with aggressive behaviours and mental health issues
A strong knowledge of Family Systems theory
Ability to work within a strength-based and trauma informed lens
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
A current BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
You’ll score more points if you have:
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
Experience in creating social stories, visuals aids, sensory integration, and report writing
Knowledge of behavioural support plans
Experience with de-escalation and crisis management

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Building positive working relationships with the youth, their families, community members, and other professionals
Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting clients with personal care as needed
Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans
Salary: $21.00-$23.50/hour plus benefits
