Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert advice on medication use, and ensuring optimal patient care.. The Pharmacist will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring safe medication practices within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, adhering to legal and safety standards
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare professionals and patients regarding medication therapies
- Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust prescriptions as necessary in collaboration with medical staff
- Educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of prescriptions and patient interactions in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop individualized patient care plans
- Stay current with new medications, medical procedures, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).
- Previous experience in a community/retail pharmacy environment.
- Previous pharmacy management or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario pharmacy regulations, standards, and professional practice.
- Excellent clinical, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy community pharmacy.
- Experience with Kroll Pharmacy Software is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing, third-party billing, inventory management, and pharmacy workflow.
- Ability to build positive relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
