Dock Mechanic / Marine Maintenance Technician

Rivers Inlet Sportsman's Club is seeking an experienced Dock Mechanic / Marine Maintenance Technician to join our team for the remainder of the 2026 season.
This is a unique opportunity to work at one of British Columbia's premier remote fishing lodges while enjoying an incredible coastal setting.
Contract Schedule
- 11 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Contract runs until September 11, 2026
Position Overview
The Dock Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the lodge's dock systems, marine equipment, and fleet of boats to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and ready for daily guest operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lodge boats and outboard motors.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair dock systems, floats, ramps, and associated infrastructure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on marine equipment.
- Complete preventative maintenance schedules for vessels and dock equipment.
- Assist with launching, fueling, and preparing boats for daily operations.
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and a clean, organized workshop.
- Respond quickly to mechanical issues to minimize downtime during guest operations.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Assist with general maintenance duties around the lodge as required.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a marine mechanic, heavy-duty mechanic, or similar trade.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with outboard engines and marine systems is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a hardworking team.
