THE COMPANY:
Norfolk Disposal is a family owned and operated business servicing Norfolk and surrounding areas for more than 60 years, we are looking to have an experienced driver join our waste management team!
THE POSITION:
This is a "on-call" position primarily within the Front End Lift Driving Fleet with as required driving coverage in other Fleet areas (i.e. Roll-off, Curbside).
Within the Front End Lift driving position, the successful candidate will service the front-end container accounts in a safe and courteous manner by picking up containers and emptying them into the truck and taking the load to the designated location for disposal.
Demonstrated experience within this position is required (resume and drive test).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Complete a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle each operating day
· Follow route assignments as directed in a safe manner
· Check containers for hazardous or liquid materials
· When required, position the containers in line with the forks before lifting
· Use correct loading and dumping procedures for containers
· Clean up any spillage that was created when dumping containers
· Clean out daily debris that accumulated behind the blade
REQUIREMENTS
· Must have a minimum of 3 years current DZ driving experience
· Must have documented and demonstrated Front-End lift driver experience
· Be physically fit and lift up to 50 lbs while working alone
· Must be prepared to work in all weather conditions
· Operate vehicle in accordance with Norfolk Disposal’s Safety, Occupational Health & Safety and MTO requirements as well as all local, provincial and federal laws
· Complete pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment
· Perform all duties as required
· Must be available to start early morning shifts where applicable (i.e. 4:00 – 5:00 am)
· Must be reliable, willing to work a minimum of 12-hour shift to complete route as required
· Must be available to work Stat holiday Mondays as well as any existing holiday shift requirements.

Pay: From $27.50 per hour
