Job Summary
The Operations and Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the maintenance and operation of facilities used for religious services, charitable food distribution, counselling programs and community outreach. The position ensures that buildings, equipment and mechanical systems are maintained safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable legislation and organizational policies. Reports directly to the Executive Director/Senior Pastor
Responsibilities
The Operations and Maintenance Manager will:
- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate the day-to-day operation of organizational facilities.
- Develop, implement and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Supervise maintenance staff, custodial employees, kitchen support personnel and volunteers.
- Recruit, train, schedule and evaluate facility employees.
- Coordinate contractors, service providers, inspectors and equipment suppliers.
- Prepare, administer and monitor facility operating and maintenance budgets.
- Establish maintenance priorities and monitor work completion.
- Maintain records relating to maintenance activities, inspections, repairs and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure buildings comply with occupational health and safety standards, fire safety regulations and sanitation requirements.
- Oversee the setup, operation and maintenance of facilities used for worship services, conferences, seminars and community events.
- Coordinate facility logistics for charitable food distribution and community outreach initiatives.
- Recommend improvements to building systems, operational efficiency and maintenance practices.
- Ensure efficient operation of building mechanical systems, utilities and equipment.
Education:
A college diploma or university degree in facilities management, engineering technology, building operations, business administration or a related discipline is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum five years of experience in facility operations or maintenance management.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and contractors.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and occasional outdoor work.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for organizational events.
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies when necessary.
Pay: $41.00-$49.00 per hour
