Mental Health Worker (Full Time Days) 6 Month Contract
We are presently accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill the following position for our Residential Bed Programs:
Start Date: ASAP
Hours of Work: 40hrs/week
Wage Rate: As Per Collective Bargaining Agreement
This position assists with service provision and staff coverage between two Residential Programs, in Brantford and Simcoe. Tasks include but are not limited to:

Providing support to clients

Fulfill program needs during staff absence

Maintain program work schedules

Program promotion and in-service presentations

Statistics collection
-
Tracking and ordering supplies

Hours of work may require flexibility, but are typically during weekday, daytime hours depending on program and client needs. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required. A driver’s license and reliable personal transportation is required.
A minimum two-year college diploma in the Social Service field is required (ie. SSW), with demonstrated familiarity and understanding of Brant, Haldimand & Norfolk mental health & addiction services.
Additional Preferences:

Ability to work effectively in a close team environment;

Solid understanding of community mental health Case Management and Psycho-Social Rehabilitation and Recovery principles;

Significant work experience (2+ years preferred) in a mental health service environment;

Presently certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR;

Knowledge of local community programs and services;

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;

Strong organizational and computer skills; experience in Client Data Systems (EMHware), Microsoft Office;

Familiarity with psychotropic medications, assessment instruments (ie. OCAN, GAIN-SS, OPOC) and psychiatric reports;
