Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant General Manager to support the successful operation of our new hotel. Working closely with the General Manager, you will oversee daily operations, lead and develop team members, ensure brand standards are maintained, and help drive guest satisfaction, financial performance, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys being actively involved in all areas of hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the daily operation of the hotel.
- Lead, coach, and motivate department leaders and team members to deliver exceptional guest service.
- Ensure Marriott brand standards and operating procedures are consistently met.
- Assist with financial management, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
- Monitor guest satisfaction, resolve concerns promptly, and foster a guest-first culture.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Work closely with Sales, Revenue, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Complete administrative reporting, audits, and other operational tasks as required.
- Act as Manager on Duty and provide leadership across all departments when needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hotel leadership experience in Front Office, Operations, Sales, Revenue Management, or a similar role; previous Assistant General Manager experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations and guest service.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Financial acumen, including knowledge of payroll, budgeting, and hotel reporting.
- Marriott systems experience (FOSSE, MARSHA, or Empower GXP) is an asset but not required.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to lead by example.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
