Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating heavy and light vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance with our skilled mechanics.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and accurately identify their service needs
- Write detailed service orders, including customer concerns and mechanic recommendations
- Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer requests and updates
- Provide transparent explanations of repair estimates and service options
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on mechanical knowledge and customer needs
- Accurately enter service order information into shop software
- Keep customers up to date on status or repairs and post-service communication to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge or mechanic experience to understand vehicle repairs and diagnostics
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Computer skills. Basic to intermediate. Using shop software, emailing and completing tracking sheets
- Complete credit card and debit card transactions
