Job Title: EHS Regulatory Lead
Where will you work: Regina, Saskatchewan

Identify, analyze, and anticipate emerging local, provincial, and federal EHS regulatory trends, and provide recommendations to appropriate internal stakeholders regarding Mosaic’s positions and responses. Contribute to the development of advocacy plans to favorably position Mosaic in relation to emerging EHS regulatory topics and provide support and insight to leadership on EHS regulatory affairs related issues.
What you’ll do?
75% - Canadian EHS Regulatory Affairs: Identify, monitor, interpret and provide advice on EHS regulatory developments that have the potential to impact Mosaic’s Canadian operations, with a primary focus on carbon related files.
Maintain effective working relationship with regulators (Provincial and Federal) and internal cross-functional teams to identify EHS regulatory risks, propose mitigations, and ensure industry issues and concerns are heard.
As part of a cross-functional Mosaic team working with EHS and CDN Public Affairs, collaborate on emerging regulatory files and partner to engage in public policy and EHS regulatory advocacy.
Adhere to Mosaic EHS policies and procedures and support EHS objectives.
20% - Represent Mosaic at appropriate levels within industry, community, and professional associations to maintain and develop professional relationships, stay abreast of latest EHS regulatory developments, and share good practices with other EHS professionals inside and outside of Mosaic.
5% - Additional responsibilities will also include partnering with Sr. Advisor, Regulatory Affairs (USA) in collaborating with Mosaic’s EHS, Public and Government Affairs, Law, Land Strategy, Operations, and Supply to address key issues that could impact Mosaic’s ability to operate; identifying and developing new external coalitions and allies that will position Mosaic to take advantage of opportunities.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s Degree - Environmental Science, Engineering, Public Policy or related degree (Environmental Engineering Preferred)
5+ experience in the EHS compliance experience, mining industry preferred.
Demonstrated experience effectively navigating provincial and federal legislative, regulatory and political processes, including the support of advocacy strategy development.
Experience working with government staff and industrial organizations with a proven track record of success.
Knowledge of EHS regulations, permitting, and legal process involving regulatory rulemaking; ability to interpret those requirements so that they can be translated into compliance activities at a site level.
Technical understanding of mining operations and environmental risks, with ability to convey complex information to various audiences. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience with carbon files (technical and regulatory).
Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and handle multiple priorities.
Must be able to travel to other Mosaic sites in Saskatchewan, Ottawa and other locations as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products is required.
