51 North Interiors has been creating interior spaces in Calgary since 2010, providing services with a high level of quality and craftmanship. We are seeking a Working Foreman to oversee and manage the operations at our construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled tradespeople and ensuring the successful and accurate completion of construction projects on time.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring optimal quality on the job site
- In collaboration with the project management team, will develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule to ensure construction project milestones and completion dates are met
- Manage 51 North Interior's crew to ensure work is planned and performed efficiently while providing excellent service and a high quality finished product
- Build and maintain working relationships
- Conduct and complete regular site and quality control inspections
- Monitor and maintain a safe and secure work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures relating to health and safety
- Demonstrate leadership and ensure that projects are built according to approved construction plans, specifications, design drawings, and applicable codes, and that high-quality standards are maintained
- Maintain a thorough daily report that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information
- Be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance
- Ability to work in fast pace environments and motivate our team to keep a productive pace.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Construction Site Foreman
- Extensive knowledge of framing and drywall scopes
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Site management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and manage construction workers effectively
- Have a thorough, current knowledge of safety practices, Alberta building codes and building practices
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively as well as highly developed problem solving & decision-making skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well with others in a leadership role in a team environment
- WHIMIS, Fall Arrest and First Aid Certificates is an asset but not required
- Must have proper PPE
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient in using hand and power tools required for the job
- Own tools to perform all aspects of work is required
- Must be punctual and have own means of transportation
- Proficient with tablet / technology is utilized in field
