Home Child Care Provider
We are a private family in Brampton, Ontario seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Home Child Care Provider to provide full-time care for our young child in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating home environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting our child’s physical, emotional, social, and developmental growth while maintaining a safe, healthy, and positive atmosphere in our home.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and care for our child in the employer’s residence.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, and nurturing environment.
- Bathe, dress, feed, and assist with daily hygiene routines.
- Change diapers and assist with toilet training as age appropriate.
- Sterilize bottles and prepare milk or formula when required.
- Prepare and serve nutritious vegetarian meals and snacks for the child.
- Plan and organize age-appropriate educational and recreational activities including reading, storytelling, music, arts and crafts, games, outdoor play, and visits to parks or community programs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, social development, language development, and independence according to parental guidance.
- Prepare the child for naps and rest periods and maintain consistent daily routines.
- Monitor the child’s emotional well-being and communicate any concerns to parents.
- Keep records of daily activities, meals, naps, and any health-related observations.
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to the child, including cleaning play areas, washing the child’s clothing and bedding, and keeping child-related spaces organized.
- Shop for groceries and child-related household supplies when required.
- Accompany the family on occasional trips and assist with childcare responsibilities when needed.
- Assume full responsibility for childcare in the absence of parents.
Qualifications
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- Minimum 1 year of childcare experience, preferably caring for infants or toddlers in a private home.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required before employment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of Punjabi language is considered an asset.
- Experience preparing vegetarian meals is considered an asset.
Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
