Role Overview
The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating programs, partnerships, facilitators and delivering training sessions, group activities and initiatives that foster positive growth for youth.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
- Lead outreach strategies to promote programs and recruit youth.
- Develop, plan, and implement youth programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners to identify shared goals and develop joint initiatives.
- Secure partnerships and funding opportunities to support program activities.
Facilitator Management
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to facilitators and volunteers, ensuring quality program delivery.
Community Engagement:
- Build and nourish sustainable and supportive relationships with youth.
- Identify opportunities for new initiatives that address the needs and interests of youth.
- Evaluate the impact of initiatives through youth voices.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in youth work, social work, education, or a related field is a plus.
- +3 years of experience working with youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including willingness to actively network and engage with youth.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to creating positive change.
Working Conditions
- Flexible Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Weekends and evenings occasionally, 3-4 times a year)
- Wheelchair Accessible Office: Shared office room located at the Broadway Youth Resource Centre, 2455 Fraser Street, Vancouver. The office and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
- Hybrid Format: Programs are held in-person in Vancouver and Burnaby and the rest of the time is a hybrid format.
- Equipment: Each employee receives a work phone and a laptop and is not expected to use personal devices for work.
