Position Title: Rack Installer
Job Summary:
The Rack Installer is responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of equipment racks and associated infrastructure for telecommunications, networking, data center, and audiovisual systems. This role requires the ability to read technical drawings, install equipment accurately, and maintain high standards of quality and safety while working independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and assemble equipment racks, cabinets, cable trays, and support structures.
- Mount servers, network switches, patch panels, UPS systems, and other equipment.
- Route, secure, label, and organize copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Read and interpret blueprints, rack elevation drawings, and installation documentation.
- Ensure installations meet company standards, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
- Perform equipment inspections and verify proper installation and functionality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all health and safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make adjustments as required.
- Document completed work and communicate project progress to supervisors and clients.
- Travel to customer sites as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience installing telecommunications, networking, or data center equipment preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow installation instructions.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and work on ladders or in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed at customer sites, offices, construction sites, and data centers.
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and climbing.
- Occasional travel and overtime may be required depending on project schedules.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
